The Spontaneous Impact Foundation began with a simple message: that greater things happen when people come together around a shared purpose.
There is an incredible amount of knowledge, experience and goodwill within our communities, and we believe that when these are brought together, they can create new opportunities for young people.
The greater than “>” symbols in our emblem represent who we are and what we stand for. When we join together to lift others up, with the guidance, support and opportunities needed, we can achieve far more than any one of us could achieve alone.

Opportunity Changes Everything
Every young person deserves the opportunity to participate fully in school life, explore their interests and discover their potential. Yet for many young people, barriers to access and participation can limit what they are able to experience and achieve.
Across South Africa, schools are filled with talented and ambitious young people with the potential to achieve remarkable things. Potential alone, however, is not always enough. Access to resources, exposure, networks and the right support can make a significant difference to what a young person is able to discover, develop and ultimately achieve.
The Spontaneous Impact Foundation partners with schools to help learners from previously disadvantaged communities overcome barriers that may limit their access to opportunities in Education, Sport, Culture and Leadership. By working alongside schools, families and communities, we connect learners with the people, organisations, expertise, resources and experiences that can help them participate fully, develop their strengths and broaden their horizons. We believe that when the right opportunities and support are available at the right time, interests can become passions, talents can become opportunities, and potential can become reality.
Academic achievement is only one part of a young person's journey, and success and talent take many forms. Not every learner's strengths are found in the classroom, yet every learner should have the opportunity to discover their abilities, pursue their interests and develop their potential. Sport, culture, leadership, service and extracurricular activities provide valuable opportunities to build confidence, character, skills and a sense of belonging. These experiences can introduce young people to new interests, relationships, environments and possibilities, while helping them develop a stronger understanding of themselves and what they may be capable of.
Participation across all areas of school life can play an important role in shaping a young person's experience of school and their outlook for the future.
